Job Description

The Marina Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the operation, appearance, and maintenance of the boat house, ramp launch, rental, and parking areas as well as Eagles Nest retail.

Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour

Major Duties/Specific Tasks

  • Supervises part-time staff members.
  • Assists with operation of facility by collecting fees; operating cash registers and issuing fee receipt tickets; selling merchandise and maintaining shelf stock of supplies by loading and/or unloading supplies.
  • Responsible for daily set up and break down of boat house and retail register.
  • Manages rental registration process.
  • Assists with public relations by greeting park visitors, handling inquiries, providing information and assistance, and informing patrons of rules and regulations.
  • Assists with appearance of boat rental area and overall marina through the general care of equipment and grounds, emptying trash receptacles, maintaining fee collection area and boat ramp, picking up ground trash, etc.
  • Performs routine maintenance as directed.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to Park Management.
  • Monitors boat ramp parking arrangements to ensure that only boaters are utilizing parking.
  • Carries out additional duties as assigned by Park Management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Possession or ability to obtain valid driver's license, must maintain safe driving record.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a Certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
  • Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately.
  • Ability to learn the operation of the facility and to obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift up to 80 lbs, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks at hand.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks.
  • Ability to make minor repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Flexibility and ability to perform all duties of other part-time employees as needed.
  • Availability to work a variable work schedule, which includes early and late afternoon hours, and weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to understand, follow and give oral instructions.
  • Ability to work from early spring to late fall.
  • Availability to work additional hours during peak operating season.
  • Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
