The RoleWe are seeking energetic and self-driven engineers to join our team and work alongside our client in a dynamic work environment within their secure facilities based at our largest Department of Defense Customer near Columbia, MD. This position will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of the client's Electrical SCADA System that monitors and controls electrical power across their local campus and enterprise sites around the globe. Candidates must be motivated, take initiative, customer-focused, strong attention to detail, successful at working as part of a team, and able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to be successful.Your ImpactComplete daily system checks of the SCADA system hardware/software health. Identify and document issues, present resolution plans to management, and execute closure.
Support action plan reviews provided by project teams to support SCADA system patching and upgrade efforts.
Perform complex and advanced troubleshooting and debugging on system software, hardware, and networking equipment.
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of system security policies.
Provide SCADA database and display management, configuration, and access support functions.
Engage with the team to provide assistance with programming field equipment (Smart Meters, Data Concentrators, RTUs, IEDs, etc.) and troubleshooting SCADA system communication issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors.
Gain in-depth knowledge of customer software use cases and support troubleshooting of complex situations.
3+ years working with Linux and/or Windows servers
1+ year of system/network administration
BS or MS degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Virtual server environments
UNIX/Linux/Windows operating systems
Experience with enterprise networking equipment
C/C++ and/or python
Experience investigating and solving software issues in a real-time environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills
Strong commitment to providing superior customer service
Active Top Secret Government Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Experience working in U.S. Government environments
Experience in one or more of the following areas: ICS/SCADA protocols, system design, application, network communications
ORACLE and/or MS-SQL
