Role Summary:
As a Science Writer / Editor, you will research and compile data used in preparing a broad range of complex scientific publications focused on the aging process, diseases of the elderly, such as Alzheimer's and related dementias, substance abuse, arthritis, Parkinson's and other aging related neurological conditions. Knowledge related to topics such as cancer, COPD and other lung diseases, cholesterol, blood pressure issues, cardiac/pulmonary hypertension and other cardiac diseases is may also be helpful within this role. The type of documents you may research and write to may include scientific reports, summary reports, newsletters, abstracts, research publications, scholarly monographs, annotated bibliographies, state-of-the-science reports, white papers, factsheets, multimedia materials, speeches, trip reports, media advisories, scripts, training materials, proposals, public relations materials, and other scientific information. Experience in minority health and health disparities is preferable in this role. You will be working with detailed specifications provided by supervisors and other technical staff, but this role has limited supervision. Additionally, you are expected to demonstrate good judgment, initiative and attention to detail in performing and completing assigned tasks on schedule all while creatively solving daily issues as they may arise.
