Job Description Summary: | The Division for Student Affairs (DSA) interacts with students throughout all phases of the student lifecycle. DSA's integrated approach is to provide a cohesive student experience built upon three core values: genuine collaboration, a comprehensive approach to problem-solving, and most important, and putting students at the center of the work. As part of the DSA team, the mission of Student Support is to help students succeed at the George Washington University (GW) by connecting them to support resources, helping them develop plans of action to meet their goals, and navigating challenging circumstances. The Student Support team aims to create an inclusive and welcoming environment to support students in building skills around self-awareness, self-advocacy, resilience, and navigating the university to maximize their GW experience. The student support team is committed to providing GW students of concern, first generation students, and military and veteran affiliated students with such support services as emergency funding, food pantry resources, as well as student health, financial, academic, and administrative services to foster their academic and career success. The Basic Needs Student Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions that address basic needs of under-represented and under-resourced students. The Basic Needs Student Program Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive program that assists students in addressing basic needs with a primary focus on food, housing, and financial insecurity. Serving as a referral point for students experiencing food and/or housing insecurity and developing action plans to connect students with on-campus and community resources. The Basic Needs Student Program Coordinator will also work with the CARE Team on student case management to support holistic wellbeing. This role will oversee the Store, GW's campus food pantry and outreach to community partners, ensuring there are adequate supplies to meet the need. They will also be the primary manager of the Student Assistance Funds managed by the Division for Student Affairs. Reporting to the Associate Director, CARE, the Student Program Coordinator collaborates closely with members of the campus community to develop and implement a cohesive approach to strengthen awareness, education, and intervention strategies to help GW students of concern and/or who are in need. Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
