Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for a Technical Analyst Desktop. This role focuses on Windows Client administration in a network environment and requires robust knowledge of imaging desktops and laptops, as well as advanced troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate will possess A+ and Microsoft certifications or a bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, though extensive experience (four or more years) may be substituted for formal education. Responsibilities include managing contractors, aiding IT Help Desk operations, and implementing IT projects aligned with SMECO's strategic and IT security plans. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in our initiatives to empower employees, enhance customer experience, and lead sustainability efforts. The starting salary range for this position is $79,100-$102,600. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401k 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in an information technology/computer science related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

Experience:

Minimum two years' progressive experience in desktop operation and configuration with strong analytical skills and written and verbal communications skills.

Skills:

  • A+ Certification training
  • Strong experience in setting up Windows Workstations, laptops and thin/zero VDI clients and their applications
  • Familiar with virtual desktop deployment and management.
  • Experience creating and deploying workstation images using available tools.
  • Experience installing and configuring peripherals such as printers, scanners, etc.
  • Experience working with MS Office and help desk systems.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Knowledge of Systems Management using available IT management tools.
  • Some Knowledge as a Windows System Administrator working with Active Directory.
  • Strong customer service orientation
