Systems Network Engineer
Job Description

The ideal candidates will possess experience in Systems/Network Engineer with a strong IT background to implement and manage an enterprise tool from cloud-based servers to end-users. The SME is expected to facilitate the implementation of the tool under development to the C2E. The Systems/Network Engineer will also assist in the following tasks:

  • O&M of existing network systems
  • Reviewing/providing technical designs and system testing plans
  • Providing technical feedback on contractor's designs
  • Track major milestones and reviews
  • Facilitate the delivery of the tool to the C2E infrastructure
  • Assist in security accreditation process



Required Skills

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations on navigating Agency regulations and security policies for the implementation of a C2E based tool
  • Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables
  • Able to design and understand systems: operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations
  • Closely collaborate with ISSM staff, sys admins, and cyber security personnel to design systems that can receive accreditation
  • Strong understanding of VMWare virtualization builds
  • Strong oral communication skills and patience

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Bachelors' degree in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience with LINUX and Windows operating systems
  • understanding of TCP/IP network protocols
  • Proven experience in network engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in the design, development, and testing of communication architectures that are deployed
  • Experience configuring network infrastructure, Linux servers, and Windows servers
  • Experience managing firewall and router access control lists
  • Cloud development experience
