RCG is a growing federal contracting company and Certified as a Great Place to Work. We are looking for strongly qualified people to help support our clients. We are currently seeking an IT Network Engineer as part of an ongoing contract in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, hybrid role three (3) days on-site two (2) days remote AFTER TRAINING.

Please note: Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.

The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This may take several weeks, and the candidate cannot begin actual employment until the background check is successfully completed.

The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise for network infrastructure solutions. They will troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, implement changes and optimizations, and ensure the reliability and security of network systems.

Primary Duties:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Perform network configuration, optimization, and maintenance tasks to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements, develop solutions, and implement changes as needed.
  • Monitor network traffic and performance, identifying and mitigating potential security threats and performance bottlenecks.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network engineering, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and security.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT network engineering or related field.
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred certifications/education:

  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+.
