Job Summary

The Philadelphia office of Milliman is looking for enthusiastic and qualified candidates to join the Milliman Life practice. The candidate will be assigned to projects in areas including but not limited to Mergers and Acquisitions, Statutory and GAAP valuation, Asset Liability Management and Enterprise Risk Management. We are seeking candidates who will strive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. The candidate will be a part of a collaborative team of actuarial analysts and consultants ready to share their knowledge and experience.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Milliman is the industry leader in mergers and acquisitions for the last 20 years. Our sophisticated financial models are relied upon to deliver accurate projections and valuations of company assets and liabilities. We are a trusted source of independent analysis on a proposed deal's valuation, merits and weaknesses. In many cases, the deal valuation is only the beginning and we are brought on to consult management on implementation and post-transaction action plans.

Job description:

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Conduct mathematical & statistical analysis for risk management for insurance companies
  • Develop and utilize actuarial models
  • Calculate reserves & work on Statutory and GAAP valuations for life insurance companies
  • Analyze statistical data related to mortality, accident & sickness, disability, termination rates
  • Summarize results and draft client communications
  • Assist with research projects

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field
  • Successful completion of at least two actuarial exams
  • Actively pursuing SOA exams toward actuarial certification
  • Knowledge or training in computer programming languages
  • Strong analytical, communication (both written and oral), and organizational skills
  • Self-starter, diligent and detailed-oriented

Preferred skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and VBA
  • Python and/or R working experience
  • SQL and/or SAS knowledge is a plus
  • MGALFA experience is a plus

This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Wayne, PA.
