These responsibilities will facilitate the research and teaching success of the department, it's Chair, Principal Investigators (PI's) and research staff. The incumbent will advance the department's mission described as follows: The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine will continue to deliver the highest quality of professional education and training, and conduct cutting-edge research at the GW School of Medicine, and achieve the status of a premier biomedical research and education center in the nation. This senior level position focuses on providing research program support and pre-award and post-award management on behalf of the Biochemistry Department's Bioinformatics program. This position works closely with Principal Investigators, managing day-to-day operations through direct grant award and administrative contributions to ensure research success. This position makes recommendations to policy and procedures, and may have authority to implement changes with minimal supervision. This position usually identifies potential grant opportunities and proposal development efforts and maintains fiscal responsibility, as well as outreach to other GW stakeholders in order to assist in maintaining standard operational efficiencies. Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
