Summary of Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Cell Culture Sciences group as an intern. The main objective of this internship is to generate and analyze exciting cell development data to enable greater process understanding and advance data trend models. The intern will also learn the basics of upstream process development for antibody production.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

  • Learn the basics of upstream process development. Including aseptic cell culture in shake flasks and bioreactors, bioreactor setup and operation of high-throughput, bench-scale, and/or large-scale disposable bioreactors, cell growth monitoring, and metabolite analysis.
  • Individual will contribute to the overall process understanding of cell growth monitoring and metabolite analysis to drive innovative process improvements.
  • Collaborate with CCS team members to create, execute, and analyze experiments relevant to intern project.
  • Assess overall data trends and support documentation explaining experimental results.
  • Present results and findings to CCS group.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certifications & Experience

Rising college sophomore pursuing a degree in related science or engineering field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organization skills in record keeping and data analysis.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to perform hands-on work in the laboratory.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic laboratory skills and/or research experience, such as: lab notebook recording, analysis and interpretation of data, and safe lab practices.
  • Experience with statistics and/or JMP statistical software.
