About the Department:

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is an access point to educational excellence for individuals of all backgrounds. At whatever point in their educational journey students engage, CHSS is committed to being a "relationship-rich" educational environment in which all students benefit from robust advising and faculty mentoring. CHSS has a strong liberal arts tradition of broad and integrative learning supported through the Mason Core as well as a broad portfolio of degree programs and certificates. Through dozens of undergraduate majors and minors and over 40 graduate degrees and certificates, CHSS prepares students exceptionally well for economically successful and civically engaged lives. The Graduate Academic Affairs team serves current and prospective CHSS students, faculty, and staff. The office supports inclusive excellence and innovation in graduate education and research, supervises graduate curriculum development and academic program reviews for CHSS, develops college-level academic policies, and manages graduate student appeal and grievance processes. It also manages CHSS's competitive awards for graduate students, processes academic actions, works with faculty to secure external funding, and facilitates professional development opportunities for faculty related to graduate education and mentoring.

About the Position:

The CHSS Graduate Programs Enrollment Management Coordinator supports and promotes CHSS graduate programs with a focus on increasing graduate enrollments, supporting effective scheduling, and producing ongoing campaigns through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool. This position is part of the graduate academic affairs team and works closely with graduate faculty and staff in CHSS departments to market graduate degrees and certificates to prospective students, and to support annual program recruitment plans within CHSS. This position is also responsible for reporting on campaign performance metrics, implementing campaign testing, and developing documentation of best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Campaign Planning:
    • Functional development, execution, and reporting of recruitment plans;
    • Execution of recruitment campaigns to prospective and enrolled non-degree and degree graduate students;
    • Synchronization of automated and one-time campaigns throughout the applicant lifecycle in support of the enrollment process;
    • Documenting and reporting on successful practices for recruitment and enrollment;
    • Coordinating recruitment campaigns and evaluating reports needed to support continuous improvement;
    • Analyzing data and metrics, to suggest improvements for the recruitment cycle as needed;
    • Tracking impact of current campaigns;
    • Communicating with multiple stakeholders in different departments;
    • Creating and maintaining reports and dashboards necessary to track campaign performance metrics; and
    • Working with main applications utilized: Salesforce, TargetX, Microstrategy, CMS.
  • Academic Reporting:
    • Coordinating meetings with CHSS Dean's Office teams and CHSS Graduate Directors and Coordinators;
    • Preparing routine reports for annual academic planning processes; and
    • Developing support workshops for programs to better understand enrollment practices.
  • Performs special duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Excellent communication, data analysis, interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, analyze workload and prioritize as necessary;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Understanding of higher education enrollment trends and recruitment practices, including the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and administrators;
  • Ability to perform data analysis and visualization and generate routine higher education reports;
  • Ability to create and maintain reports and dashboards needed to track campaign performance metrics;
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and solicit input from multiple invested parties;
  • Desire and skill to communicate with colleagues with differing levels of technical and functional expertise;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and/or anticipate organizational needs and translate them into technical requirements;
  • Ability to generate engaging content and track results through increased inquiries, applications, and conversion rates;
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of large-scale email campaigns;
  • Initiative to research and investigate ideas or challenges experienced with software tools and ability to decide when and how to involve resources beyond the team for support; and
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience in a higher education environment;
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (TargetX/Salesforce preferred);
  • Knowledge of Microstrategy for reporting; and
  • General knowledge of university policies and procedures.
