Job Description

This position requires an active Secret clearance, preference may be given to those with an active TS/SCI.

A Logistics Specialist III is responsible for coordinating and managing the logistical operations of an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement and distribution of goods and services. Their duties may include overseeing inventory management, coordinating transportation and shipping, tracking, and tracing shipments, managing supply chain processes, and maintaining accurate records. The Logistics Specialist III collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and customers to meet delivery schedules, resolve any logistical issues, and optimize overall operational efficiency. They must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Logistics Specialist III: Pay commensurate with experience.

Logistics Specialist III Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists in drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Contract file documents, Memorandums, and weekly logistics reports.
  • Working with partners and customers to ensure comprehension of - and adherence to - all applicable guidelines with respect to movement of goods via official channels.
  • Monitoring & tracking shipments (before, during, after movement) using official channels for adherence to all applicable guidelines.
  • Assists with annual, quarterly, and monthly inventories of DS/C equipment and controlled loaned DoD/OGA (classified) assets with all applicable posts abroad.
  • Coordinates and acts as the primary liaison with any and all relevant DoD offices to include but not limited to all applicable Combatant Commands and a host of partner government agencies.
  • Will directly be responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships to conduct and ensure viable transportation options globally using all modalities (Air, Land, Sea).
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Logistics Specialist III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in logistics, operations, or other related area of study preferred with 7 years' experience in logistics management required.
  • Ability to use S-ILMS and ILMS in support of PSP logistics requirements to conduct order fulfillment, tracking, and communication with posts.
  • Ability to obtain certification, currently be certified, or have current working knowledge of Hazmat policies, procedures, and guidance with preference for DOD and DOT requirements.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and maintain professional working relationships with a wide variety of government and contractor staff.
  • Must have recent working knowledge of USTRANSCOM cargo movement policies and procedures, preference may be given to those with Load Planning, APOE/APOD familiarity, with proven ability to directly support overseas logistics positions.
  • Ability to coordinate classified pouch shipments as directed.
  • Proficient in written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
  • Must be eligible for Top Secret clearance requiring access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
