We're seeking a Network Traffic Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience/familiarity with network proxies and experience in either security, web or mobile development, or systems administration. Beginner to intermediate background with Linux and network protocols or JavaScript will be beneficial. While no formal degree is required, past employment, education or training in IT, computer science or security is a great advantage. Our team conducts technical privacy testing for clients with websites, mobile apps, and IoT services. This role combines the charm of technical challenges with the mission to elevate online privacy compliance.

The position will work closely with Counsel for NT Analyzer as well as collaboratively with IT, Innovation, and other business services groups. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with a highly collaborative approach, exhibiting excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.

This role will also have the opportunity to work with the Innovation Team on a variety of innovation projects pertaining to legal technology and the firm's AI initiatives.

Candidate can be based in Houston, New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, or Los Angeles. We offer a hybrid schedule which is primarily remote with in-office meetings as needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement comprehensive testing plans and conduct privacy tests of various websites and applications

  • Perform testing using manual/automated methods

  • Work with the IT team to implement new features with guidance from NTA Counsel, Firm attorneys, and the Innovation team

  • Conduct network traffic testing using mitmproxy

  • Use Firm's proprietary software to ingest native proxy files and produce reports

  • Root mobile phones for use in proxy work

  • Engage in substantive analysis and revision of technical output

  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and finalize work product

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field preferred

  • Basic to intermediate level Linux skills required

  • IT Analyst/Systems Administration experience required

  • Experience with coding and/or development skills

  • Entry level cyber security experience preferred

  • Knowledge of web development/JavaScript

  • Knowledge of Software testing processes, methodologies, analysis, etc.

  • Network proxy experience required

  • Experience with the software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices
