The AV Design Engineer will play a key role in designing and engineering complete AV systems for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Headquarters at Ft. Meade, Maryland. This position requires expertise in system design using AutoCAD and Visio.

Design and engineer complete AV systems with a focus on system architecture, functionality, and integration.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Visio to create detailed AV system design drawings, including floor plans, equipment layouts, and wiring schematics.
• Modify architectural plans to seamlessly incorporate AV systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective system designs.
• Create equipment list for estimating based on functional needs of customer. Create rough-order-of-magnitude budget summaries.
• Provide project managers and technical staff with technical support on projects with AV system designs.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical recommendations for system improvements.
• Stay updated with industry standards and best practices related to AV system design and integration.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in audiovisual system design using AutoCAD and Visio
• Strong proficiency in creating detailed design drawings, equipment lists, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of AV equipment, technologies, and integration methods

• Experience with AV technologies such as Polycom/Cisco, Clearone, Biamp, and QSC Pro Audio.
• Familiarity with Crestron control systems and programming
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients, architects, and technical teams.
• Previous experience supporting AV system installations.
