This senior level position will be responsible for leading the operations of the Solid Waste Section including staff development, financial performance (profitability, receivables), team morale, quality control, client and project management, and business development. Will be administratively responsible for the section staff as well as provide technical leadership on projects. Collaborate and coordinate resource and project efforts with other business groups. Will be involved in marketing planning proposals and interviews while directly involved with marketing private and public sector clients.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Mid-Atlantic Waste Section Lead, we'll count on you to:
* Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
* Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
* Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
* Manage the financial performance of the Waste Section, including profitability, revenue/direct labor and receivables.
* Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
* Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues
* See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
* Implement, monitor and support company policy
* Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel
* Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
* Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
* Perform other duties as needed
Travel
* Percentage of local travel - 20%
* Percentage of travel greater than 40 miles - 50%

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field
* A minimum of 10 years management experience
* Professional registration or license
* Strong communication and listening skills
* Ability to handle multiple assignments
* Good leadership and organizational skills
* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with waste regulations preferred.
* Experience managing staff and leading teams
* Experience in the solid waste field, such as slope and seismic stability, geosynthetics design, leachate management, transfer station or material recovery facility planning and design, water balance, soils properties assessment, construction techniques, piping and pumping systems, and preparation of construction documents and engineering estimates would be beneficial.
* Preference given to local candidates
