Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various general ledger activities including reconciliations, preparation of entries, billing processes, and support of the month-end close among other duties.

Responsibilities:

    Support month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare standard and recurring journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations and follow up on any reconciling items
  • Support AR/Billing, related account reconciliations, and contract closeout process
  • Assists in gathering documentation for various auditors and requests by regulatory agencies
  • Perform detailed analysis of GL accounts and trends
  • Identifies potential for automation in processes and provide suggestions
  • Understand and maintain accounting policy documents
  • Collaborates with others on special projects
  • Performs other accounting related duties as assigned by management
  • Support for external audit activities
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting related position in government contracting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with and solid communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • Deltek Costpoint 7.0 or higher
  • Understanding of government contract billing process
