Job Description

The role of Manager, Media Development, contributes to Think through the coordination, completion, and delivery of requests from all Think teams, external and internal clients, and contract stakeholders. The Manager, Media Developer, directs day-to-day operations of the Media Development, 508-Accessibility, and HTML Application teams and ensures that procedures used in development processes are consistent and repeatable.

Essential Functions - What Is Expected of Me in My Role

  • Collaborate and consult with leaders across the organization to ensure Think's mission is achieved within the constraints, as defined by the appropriate government statement of work or program requirements.
  • Be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and adherence of media development, 508-accessibility, and HTML application processes.
  • Define and incorporate development, creative, and usability best practices for all products developed by the Media Development, 508-Accessibility, and HTML Application teams.
  • Promote proactive research and understanding of media development, 508-accessibility, and HTML application best practices.
  • Develop and maintain close partnerships with teams, contractors, and stakeholders to communicate status and ensure proper and on-time completion of each project.
  • Direct resourcing, key performance indicators (KPIs), and development tools to effectively allocate workloads and determine development capacities. Allocate or reallocate resources and negotiate deadline agreements as needed.
  • Direct and mentor members of the Media Development, 508-Accessibility, and HTML Application teams, conduct performance evaluations for direct reports, and support the professional development of team members, including ongoing training.
  • Establish strategic goals by defining objectives and evaluating outcomes.
  • Research and support new techniques, technologies, and innovations and present to senior leadership.
  • Manage recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new Media Development, 508-Accessibility, and HTML Application team associates.
  • Maintain an advanced knowledge of eLearning configuration, Sharable Content Object Reference Mode (SCORM) standards, and Learning Management System (LMS) functionality.
  • Direct 508-accessibility testing procedures and reporting measure, and affirm that all submitted training products adhere to Section 508 Health and Human Services (HHS), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and statement of work requirements.
  • Effectively present information and respond to enquiries from groups, managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Consult, collaborate, and develop strong partnerships across the team, departments, and organization.
  • Attend and facilitate team, curriculum, and client meetings as needed.
  • Provide critical support for requests for proposal and business-development initiatives, compose white-paper sections, and manage the creation of key graphics.
  • Build and manage customer, vendor, and internal team relationships.

Qualifications - What My Role Needs

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or at least 6 years related experience and/or training directly associated with developing media required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
