Job Summary

Spectrum Brands is looking to recruit a Global Brand Manager to deliver the exciting global marketing and ATL campaigns for our iconic Home Appliance brands, PowerXL and BLACK+DECKER.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for all aspects of Brand Management and Marketing Communications, and the ability to convert this passion into a commercial advantage for the brand and our business.

This role sits within a team of dedicated and experienced Brand Managers, who develop the brand identities, positioning, and campaigns for our portfolio of well-known and market leading brands. The Brand Manager also works collaboratively with other functional marketing experts as part of the Global Central Marketing team.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as the brand curator for PowerXL and BLACK+DECKER, owning the brand guidelines and setting the standard for the brand's consumer marketing campaigns globally.
  • Work closely with our Global Research and Insights team to understand the needs, wants, and aspirations of the target consumers for PowerXL and BLACK+DECKER.
  • Manage the creative process to develop and produce brand-led marketing and advertising campaigns, including:
    • Work with Product Development and Legal to agree NPD positioning, product propositions, and marketing claims to meet consumer needs and support strong campaigns.
    • Write and gain approval of creative briefs.
    • Manage internal and external creative partners to deliver a coordinated suite of campaign materials for use across our global markets, including advertising templates, photography, and video content, ensuring that materials are produced on time and within agreed scope of work budgets.
    • Ongoing management of all campaign assets, ensuring that they are kept up to date and have the correct usage rights and licenses.
  • Work closely with the Creative & Digital Marketing teams to ensure consistency of branded content across all consumer touchpoints, including ecommerce and social media.
  • Help to identify suitable commercial brand partnerships which align with and support the brands' strategies
  • Build close relationships with regional and local marketing teams, providing support and guidance on the implementation of campaigns and local activations.
  • Provide regular analysis of Brand health specifics - using various sources of reference (brand tracking, continuous market data, internal sales data, media agency PCA's, other external sources, insights from research, etc.) to assist in continuous improvement and development of the Brand planning.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed
Education and Experience Profile
  • Educated to Bachelor's degree level (or beyond) in Marketing or related discipline
  • At least 5 years Brand Management or Marketing Communications experience, preferably in a client-side role within the consumer goods industry
  • Experience working on global brand across multiple global markets
  • To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate experience of all the following:
  • Briefing and delivery of consumer marketing campaigns for online and offline media channels.
  • Day-to-day management of creative agency partners, e.g. design agency, PR agency, production company, or full-service marketing agency.
  • Full project-management of photography and video shoots, e.g. product photography, lifestyle photography, 'How To' videos or product technology animations.
Required Skills
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in marketing.
  • A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of planning and managing creative campaigns across multiple international markets and/or languages would be a strong advantage.
